Homewood 4th of July Parade
When we announced the participation of our parish at the 4th of July parade in Homewood, IL this year, we hoped to be a sparkling splash. And yes, we were. Sharing your faith through a public celebration like the 4th of July blends both civic pride and spiritual presence beautifully. It’s a way to honor your values, connect with the broader community, and show that faith can be joyful, inclusive, and visible. Whether through banners, songs, prayers, or simply marching in unity, it’s moments like these that leave lasting impressions.
Over 100+ parishioners of all ages joined SJN’s colorful, joyful procession in the Village of Homewood’s July 4th parade. Our marchers were even featured in the Southtown Daily news!
A zillion thanks is owed to all the many financial sponsors …to all the many hands who decorated such darling bikes, wagons, scooters, and strollers… to all who carried our banners and balloons… to all who donated and tossed out gobs of candy and icy pops… to all who planned the music and manned the sound system… to all who built and decorated our Parish float.. to all who donated the use of their parade vehicles, and to all who cheered us as on-lookers. A great big thank you to the Marian Council Knights of Columbus for the post parade picnic at Izaak Walton Preserve.
